It's a Google Sheets template you copy to your own Drive. We chose this format because most coaches already work in Sheets โ no new tool to learn, no monthly subscription, no learning curve. And it works offline, on mobile, anywhere.
Will this replace my accounting software?
For solo coaches with under 50 clients, often yes. It's not a full accounting suite โ no invoicing, no bank reconciliation, no VAT submission โ but for tracking income/expenses and seeing your monthly P&L, it's all most coaches need. If you grow to 100+ clients, consider Xero or QuickBooks.
Does it handle multiple currencies?
The template uses one currency at a time. You can change the symbol in the settings tab. If you coach in multiple currencies, duplicate the sheet per currency, or add a conversion column manually.
How is the tax estimate calculated?
Based on country preset (UK self-assessment, US Schedule C, AU sole trader, etc) โ the template calculates an approximate tax-set-aside percentage. This is an estimate, not tax advice. Always confirm with your accountant.
Can I track multiple income streams?
Yes โ log each income entry with a 'source' field (1-1 coaching, online programmes, group sessions, affiliate, products, etc). The summary tab breaks down income by source so you see which streams actually pay.
Do I need a Google account?
Yes โ to copy the template you need a free Google account. The template itself is free forever and runs on free Google Sheets.
Will my data be private?
Yes โ once you copy the template to your Drive, it's yours. SpurFit doesn't see your numbers. Google's standard privacy applies. You can also work offline in Sheets if you prefer.
Is this connected to the SpurFit platform?
It's a free standalone resource. If you also use SpurFit's coaching platform, the income data syncs to your billing automatically. If you don't, the sheet still works perfectly on its own.
